Trees growing near sidewalks and parking lots can lift paved surfaces. This can result in a tripping hazard. Moreover uneven paving surfaces can become obstacles for individuals with mobility limitations. While problematic, this situation is not addressed in the ISA Tree Risk Assessment BMP and is not a consideration when determining if a tree can be removed without notice or a permit under Florida Statute 163.045. Similarly, tripping hazards associated with fruit/seed drop are not addressed in the ISA Tree Risk Assessment BMP.
